Acquired by Intel in March 2014, Basis is now a part of Intel's New Device Group. Basis is an early player in the fitness wearables market and has developed a product, the Basis Health Tracker, that provides users with extensive data on various health and fitness metrics ranging from calorie expenditure to perspiration and skin temperature.
