Google’s announcement of its wearables OS, Android Wear, led many to question is Sony would adopt the new platform. Sony told CNET that based on the investment it has made into its existing smartwatch products it plans to continue to use its own proprietary tech for the time being. In a later conversations though, Sony did make clear that they will continue to explore opportunities in the wearables space with Google.
