The third edition in the LG family, the LG Watch Urbane is now available in most markets, and with its release comes the launch of Android Wear 5.1.1 (download links are now available for other Android Wear smartwatches).
The smartwatch runs thanks to a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, while its screen measures to 1.3-inches and includes a 410mAh battery that will last up to two days on a single charge.
A round face, dipped in chrome and available in either silver or gold, mimics the appearance of a traditional wristwatch.
The latest OS will have WiFi connectivity and allows a smartwatch user to pair his or her phone with more than one wearable at a time.
Apps will now stay open on the watch until closed, font size can be adjusted, notifications can be received even while using another app (like directions), and the watch screen can be locked.
Along with these new OS capabilities, the Urbane gets two additional features: LG Call and LG Pulse. As described by IBN Live, “The LG Call feature lets you access recent calls and favourite contacts list on the connected smartphone to speed-dial from the watch. The LG Pulse feature is for health monitoring and measures your heart rate every second during exercise with no maximum time limit”
The smartwatch starts at $349.00 and is available in the Google Store.
