Samsung to Launch Glass Competitor?

Samsung has filed a patent application for a single-ear mounted headset, which looks like it is prepping for going after Google Glass.

In the application Samsung refers to this product as “earphone,” a name that references the fact that it appears to be an ear-mounted headset. While this may please consumers who are concerned with the amount of facial real estate they have to surrender to a device like Google Glass, it is certainly no less noticeable.
Samsung also applied for a more traditional headset device patent back in late 2013, seen below:
