While Samsung has been making a lot of headlines with their Galaxy Gear smartwatch efforts, Google made a big splash yesterday by officially announcing a developer preview to Android Wear. Given their complicated relationship in the smartphone market, it will be interesting to see how their mutual push to become the defacto wearables standard will play out.
