The biggest bane of smartphones is their battery life. They only marginally improve, new release after new release, making it the one true limitation for smartphones we have to deal with. To help alleviate some of those limitations, Q Design has introduced QBracelet, a wearable charger for the iPhone:
External chargers aren’t anything new however. Companies have been making bulky charging cases and external battery packs for iPhones since they came out. The QBracelet changes that a little, by putting it on your wrist, and in a fashion-conscious manner. Instead of a connecting cord, the bracelet opens up to reveal an Apple lightning adapter, that clasps onto the phone when plugged in. The charger is able to recharge your smartphone up to 60% in about 60 minutes depending on the initial battery level. Then to recharge the QBracelet takes approximately 90 minutes, using a USB charger or wall charger.
The bracelet comes in matte black, gold, matte silver, and polished silver, as well as three sizes to accommodate different wrists. The bracelet itself is made of high-grade aluminum, with a polycarbonate inside lining, making it only weigh between 40-50 grams depending on the size.
Currently, the QBracelet only supports iPhones 5 and newer, but there are reportedly plans for Android to be available at the full launch. QBracelet currently runs for $79 at pre-order, with the full retail cost at $99.
