Mysteries — and a smartwatch? — to be revealed at Xiaomi event

Chinese smartphone and electronics vendor Xiaomi enjoys keeping its audience on its toes. So much so that it invited its forum users to guess how many new products will be revealed at the company’s March 31st mystery event. A clear majority emerged with 62% of forum readers anticipating at least three products.

At least one product, connected weighing scales, is for certain. Chinese website MyDrivers.com posted an image of the product. The International Business Times reports, “The device is part of Xiaomi’s plan to create an eco-system of products with the smartphones at its heart. The company already sells a number of connected products including a budget fitness tracker and an air purifier.”

Reports and speculation suggest that Xiaomi could also unveil its first smartwatch. China’s 36 Krypton was the first to announce that Xiaomi had a smartwatch in development earlier this month, and reports suggest the device could be unveiled at the event. Stay tuned for announcements.
