Misfit Wearables has joined forces with Beddit Sleep Monitor to create the Misfit Beddit Sleep System. The system combines the sensor technology of both young companies to help users understand their sleep habits, all with the simple insertion of a paper-thin device into a mattress and an iPhone.
Misfit, maker of the Shine fitness tracker, is continuing its reach into the wellness industry with its partnership with Beddit. The monitor works simply and discreetly once placed under the sheets of a user’s mattress, tracking physiological data and then submitting it via Bluetooth to the user’s phone. Once submitted, the user can then track sleep cycles, snoring, heart rate, awake times, as well as total amount slept, giving the user an accurate picture of their sleep patterns all on the Misfit app. Additionally, the system comes with a number of custom sleep sounds to help soothe the user into a peaceful night’s rest.
While Misfit has been around slightly longer, Beddit first appeared with an Indiegogo campaign back in 2013, ultimately raising more than $500,000 from the crowdfunding platform. After launching the Beddit sleep system earlier in 2014, the company found partnership with the fellow sensor company in Misfit. Ideally, the sleep technology is meant to work alongside Misfit’s Shine, creating a full picture of each user’s health.
The Misfit Beddit Sleep System is now available for $149, on the Misfit Wearables website. The system currently works on iOS, with Android coming soon.
