How Voice Will Influence Wearables

Voice is typically seen as a feature that mobile technology must facilitate between users. Voice interaction with technology has been fairly limited until Apple’s Siri came along. However, new technologies are adopting the medium and innovating on it such as Xbox One and Google Glass.
Wearables have already begun innovating upon voice. Google Glass offers the aforementioned “OK Glass…” voice commands, and most smartwatch offerings out now offer microphones for voice messaging.
Martin Geddes of the Hypervoice Consortium also believes that voice will become a core integration within technology to move past simple calls and voice commands to open specific apps. Some examples include voice encryption for security purposes, mimicking social chat communications such as Google Hangouts, and become increasingly important in artificial intelligence interactions.
