Enviable 50% Apple Watch discount announced for employees

The next 90 days mark a really good time to be an Apple employee (or friend of an Apple employee).

BGR reports by way of its “trusted sources” that Apple employees will receive a 50 percent discount on the Apple Watch — for a limited time only. Normally, employees receive a discount on one item per year. 9to5mac marks that, by comparison, the iPad was not immediately offered at discount for employees, while the original iPhone was provided for free to a large percentage of the company.

BGR asserts that the discount is only extended to Apple Sport and Apple Watch, while 9to5mac claims it also includes $550 off of the gold Apple Watch Edition (a mere drop in the bucket on a price tag of $17,000).

And in the event that anyone really wants to wear their status on their wrist, there are always the complementary gold, rose gold, platinum and crocodile skin bands by Goldgenie ($3,000 – $165,000). That half-off discount will get Apple employees but a fraction closer to indulgent, modern luxury.
