Apple Extends Trademark to Jewelry & Watches

Written By Wearables.com

In a move that only fuels the expectations of an Apple wearable, such as the coveted iWatch, Apple has applied to have its corporate trademark extend to jewelry and watches. First discovered by MacRumors, the move comes after Apple registered the term “iWatch” in multiple countries. These countries include Mexico, Ecuador, Norway, and the UK.

According to the US Patent & Trademark Office, international trademark classification Class 14, which Apple applied for extension into, refers to

“Class 14 include mainly precious metals, goods in precious metal not included in other classes, and, in general, jewelry, clocks and watches.”

Apple has yet to confirm any official iWatch or wearable device product launch.
