Huawei unveiled its stylish new Android Wear smartwatch in March. Perhaps to bring attention back from the Apple Watch release, the China-based company recently wrote a blog post telling us why its smartwatch is the best, thereby giving us a closer look at the new wearable.

According to the company, one of the most important features of the Huawei smartwatch (deemed “Huawei Watch”) is its design. The smartwatch became a surprise hit at the Mobile World Congress this year. Why? Because it looks like a “real” watch. Said watch designer Ben Norton, “[Huawei] just believe[s] that the consumer wants an actual watch that feels like a watch.”

The post also states that the manufacturing process for the Huawei Watch is similar to that of your standard, non-smartwatch. “A single watch contains 130+ components, 160+ steps done by hand, 260+ manufacturing steps, and 650+ hours of quality testing,” the blog reads.

It’s also highly customizable. Huawei’s blog post mentions that there are a variety of straps to choose from, three case color options (gold, silver, and black), and over 40 watch faces to pick for the display.

Being an Android Wear watch, Huawei Watch has the benefit of a familiar interface with Android phone compatibility. The device also has a fitness tracker, a hard-to-damage sapphire crystal screen, and battery life that can last for up to two days.

Huawei has not yet announced the release date or price for their smartwatch, though there are some rumors about those important details. Some are expecting a June launch date with a price tag of nearly $1,000. Of course, none of this has been confirmed. We’ll be looking out for details in the meantime.
